Full-Time PR Account Manager role

Remote Position (work from anywhere in the UK but bear in mind that you will need sometime in the actual office in the future in Wilmslow in Cheshire, North Lincolnshire or Yorkshire or another region).

The Broadcasters’ Academy (formerly called Broadcast Ready) was established on the 15th of August 2013. The Company has experienced year on year growth of late even in the year 2020.

The Broadcasters’ Academy is both a PR agency highly specialising in broadcast PR, and Coaching Program. We have a transformational program teaching Experts how to pick up the phone to the TV and radio media and get themselves on air, the right way. Their aim is to become the broadcast media’s go-to expert in their field of expertise. The program consists of On Demand training videos and downloadable templates and examples, with two live coaching calls a week in case our clients have any questions for us to answer or need help, and 24/7 access to post asking questions and conversing in the private online group.

We also offer a full agency service for some clients getting them on TV, radio and in the press ourselves, managing their SEO, their website, their social media and events. We are also a TV agent and TV show developer, trying to get some clients their own TV show.


Are you a passionate team player with a “whatever it takes” attitude and the savvy organisational, execution and tech skills that are requirements of an amazing Senior Account Executive/Junior Account Manager/Account Manager? If so, this role may be the perfect fit for you.

We are looking for a team player with proven project management experience, who would be excited to work with our passionate, intelligent, friendly, virtual team each day…and amp up the performance during busy times.  This is a full-time permanent position.

– Work cross-functionally with our team and suppliers to execute external projects

– Contribute to the planning, documentation, execution, marketing improvements and testing of customer journeys

– Assist with email marketing, email automations, landing pages and the design and configuration of them

– Assist with course content and management

– Technical tasks include the ability to troubleshoot, upload material, connect links, and set up web pages (you’ll need to feel comfortable as the “IT-person” although we also have slower IT support from a supplier)

– Being able to use Word Press efficiently

– SEO for the Broadcasters’ Academy website (you can learn on the job if you are not advanced)

– Projects include organising our promotional content and the appropriate online tools, analytics, and metrics

– Be able to use social media at an advanced level, to manage several social media accounts

– Being able to get clients and the Company in the press and on broadcast media

– Be able to create imagery like YouTube thumbnails on

– Be able to edit short video clips with writing above it and add Astons and on screen words


You will ideally have at least one year’s professional public relations experience covering either corporate PR, financial PR, consumer PR, and perhaps with political elements and broadcast PR.  Media relations experience and excellent knowledge of UK media is essential. You may also have journalism experience.

You will have got your clients in national newspapers, magazines, online and on radio and TV.

If you do not have enough broadcast PR experience, full on the job training in broadcast PR will be given.

The Broadcasters’ Academy has worked with MPs, CEOs, professionals, royalty, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and celebrities and dealing day in, day out with the issues that have led TV news bulletins and dominated newspaper pages. We bring a campaigning mindset to the clients we represent. We understand how to use communications and align it with marketing counsel too, in order to financially affect the bottom line of the client’s and our own business.


The perfect candidate for this position will have the following credentials:

  • You have a solid understanding of online marketing principles, social media marketing, and some copy writing skills
  • You will have sales skills and be able to bring in new business leads generating leads
  • You will have the sales skills to conduct meetings and close on the deal at the end of the first, second or third meeting
  • You will write excellent copy
  • You will have good contacts with the national press, the national press magazine inserts, and lifestyle media like GQ magazine
  • You will have got clients on broadcast media before (this is desirable, otherwise you will go on our in-house elite broadcast PR training program and we will train you to be great at broadcast PR by one of the best broadcast PR’s in the UK as this is a compulsory skill on the job)
  • You will have a good phone manner
  • You are passionate about the media and watch, listen to and read it daily
  • You have an eye for detail and meticulous perfection in published content both margins, images, copy and grammar.
  • You have a consistently strong work ethic and are strongly result-driven, especially during particularly busy times
  • You have a curious mind and excellent problem-solving skills, to keep up with online marketing’s and PR industry’s constant changes
  • Lead and manage projects, taking direction from the director of the account but taking responsibility as the key figure of the execution, keeping projects on track and meeting all deadlines.
  • Keep abreast of the news agenda and client-related issues across the media
  • Lead on identifying and delivering different tactical media opportunities for a business insurance broker (Lloyds broker) client across different mediums including TV and radio
  • Regularly proactively pitching to the media and nurturing relationships with journalists
  • Getting the CEO and co-founder insurance broker featured in national press, national press magazines and lifestyle media
  • Delivery of high-quality client outputs, including press releases, briefing documents, production call sheets, social media content and possibly blogs and newsletters
  • Manager of the PR for the Broadcasters’ Academy getting the CEO featured in the press, podcasts and doing the company social media
  • Helping to organise press events, client events and events in the House of Commons
  • Scripting event literature and proof reading
  • Keep media outreach documents up to date
  • Other tasks that come up as and when necessary
  • Generate new leads for the business
  • Generate new business for the Company which you will be rewarded in commission
  • Doing automated emails on Active Campaign
  • Creating Company Newsletters on Active Campaign
  • Ensure all work is grammatically accurate
  • Moderating the student forum on Kajabi
  • Keen interest and passion in current affairs, and to be politically astute
  • Ability to develop and cultivate current client relationships and willingness to expand networks within business, the media and potentially politics
  • Proficiency in using different forms of media, such as social media, broadcast, print and online

  • Editing footage and producing videos – desirable, not essential, you will be trained on the job
  • Paid advertising experience such as with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn ads- desirable but not compulsory, we can train you in this
